My years at Riga 1st Distance Learning Secondary School were one of the most important periods of my life. I gained knowledge, learned to plan my own time so that I could complete all assessments on time and, most importantly, finished school! The school has the most fantastic, knowledgeable and inspiring teachers, and an administration that can resolve any problem!

It was a pleasure to study at this school. The teachers are accommodating, and the administration is always available to contact.

These two school years had their ups and downs — there were difficult moments and successful ones. Studying on your own is not easy, so I am extremely grateful to the teachers for their responsiveness and to the administration for answering questions so promptly! School is over, but the results remain: the experience will stay with me forever. 😊 Thank you!

The best teachers and administration! Studying is a pleasure, and the teachers explain things clearly and with humour. I am proud to have finished secondary school here. My years at this school will always remain in my memory! 😊

I am a graduate of this school. It enabled me to complete general secondary education while living outside Latvia! I studied at times that suited me. I recommend this school to anyone who wants to pursue a career and gain an education at the same time!

This year I graduated from Riga 1st Distance Learning Secondary School while living abroad. I am very grateful and happy with my experience. The administration and teachers are always responsive, reply quickly, approach every situation with understanding and find solutions that work for everyone. I recommend this school to anyone who values a flexible schedule, a caring approach and a pleasant learning environment.

I studied at Riga 1st Distance Learning Secondary School for four years. I enjoyed a high-quality, well-structured learning process. The materials were extensive and gave me a good understanding of different subjects. The administration and teachers were always responsive and ready to help, creating a sense of security and a positive learning environment. Thanks to this school, I gained broad knowledge that will certainly help me in the future. A real sense of freedom and the ability to manage my own time — thank you!

Enrolling at Riga 1st Distance Learning Secondary School was the biggest and best decision of my life. Although I studied here for only a year and a half, I am very satisfied: I could study calmly, at my own pace, without the intense stress and workload I had experienced at an in-person school. My health improved as a result.

My biggest gain from studying at Riga 1st Distance Learning Secondary School was learning not to excuse gaps in my knowledge by saying “the teacher didn’t explain it” or “we weren’t taught that”, but to recognise what I still do not understand and try to understand it — by asking the understanding teachers for help or finding resources online myself. In my experience and that of my friends, pupils at in-person schools often do not use those resources even though they are available. Distance learning teaches you to use resources, stand on your own feet and become independent.

Distance learning is a wonderful opportunity to combine education with interests and hobbies outside school. It also inevitably requires responsibility and persistence — qualities and skills that are extremely valuable later in life and at university. Riga 1st Distance Learning Secondary School was the best choice of school for me! It was a pleasure to study at a school with an innovative approach, a convenient learning environment and a wonderful, supportive and responsive team of leaders and teachers. Distance learning also gave me the opportunity to finish secondary school in two years and move closer to my goals. I am very grateful for the opportunities to take part in a research project competition and subject Olympiads and to serve on the student council. This shows that distance learning can offer a good-quality education and opportunities to develop and realise your potential in many ways. A wonderful school — a big thank you to the whole caring R1TV team, the supportive administration and headteacher, and the responsive teachers! :)
